How Sound Meter Measures the levels of noise or pressure level

Sound level meter uses your Android's microphone to measure levels of noise or sound pressure levels around him and calculates and shows the exact level of sound, noice,in dB (decibels) units.

Microphones in Android devices are tuned on different gain values. microphone records human voice, therefore the maximum noise is limited and very loud sounds cannot be recognized (in most cases above 100dB).



To measure the different sounds levels ranging from minimum to maximum sound loud we calibrate the mic gain to be accurate. The real microphone accuracy is +-2.5 dB range of actual noise level.
