**Turn on captions when viewing the video for step by steps instructions on how to use the app. when estimating the length and weight of your fish. You can do this by selecting the 3 buttons located on the top right of your screen, and then select captions.

This is more than just another app. In addition to a ruler or scale, it is another tool for us to use to estimate the length and weight of the fish we catch while providing us with the ability share the picture of the fish with friends and family. It also promotes catch and release by providing proof the big one did not get away (if you decide not to keep it), and expedites the release.

All the angler has to do it snap a quick picture with the reference object (can be knife, pliers, lure, part of your reel, part of your rod, wedding band, etc.) included in the picture, and then they can weigh and measure anytime thereafter. I typically measure and weigh the fish I catch later that evening or the next day.

• *New feature - you can now estimate the length and weight of your catch by using the import function to bring in pictures not taken with the app.

***HOW TO USE***
Open app
Be sure to include reference object with fish (it can be a knife, pliers, fishing lure, part of your rod, your reel, stick, wedding band, etc., anything as long as you know the length of it or can get the length of it at a later time).
Snap picture
Select species
Measure reference object (always measure the reference object even if you have used it before)
Measure fish
Choose body type if applicable (i.e. lean, average or hefty)
You're done!

The fish can be measured any time after you take the picture and accept it; I typically do it when I get home from fishing, or the next day.

*HOW IT WORKS:
You measure your fish by dragging the measurement line in the app
*IMPORTANT* – you must include a reference (e.g. knife, lure, part of rod, foot, etc) that you know the length of (or you can measure it separately at a later time).
Then you enter the reference object into app and input its length.
Even if the reference object has already been used before and is saved in the app, you must always measure the reference object in the picture, so we know what the scale is.
Then you can measure the fish!

Tip:
For best results: when taking the picture do not hold the phone at an angle. Hold it so the phone is flat, and as close to directly over the fish as possible.
